Aloha Mai Kakou! (Welcome to one and all!) Proud to announce that The Peace Place website (http://radio.uhh.hawaii.edu/peaceplace/ has received the IA Quality Recognition Award from IAKAMAI, which "recognizes web site visionaries that originate anywhere around the World for the Excellence and Services to the Hawaiian Community and Culture." This award to the URH-based internet radio program website is "based on the ancient Hawaiian Concept of "kuleana" (Responsibility) and "ha'aheo" (Pride)" and will be posted on the website soon (mahalos to Mark).
As program host, i'm feeling particularly proud of this award, as it "is given to the outstanding websites benefiting the Education and Understanding of Hawai'i, Hawaiian Culture and the concept of Aloha," based on a rating system that judges a site in the following categories: innovation, information, service to visitors, family/business-friendliness and Hawai'i-related acknowledgement of Hawai'is culture, products or information. Sites that earn at least 90 out of the ll0 possible points receive the award. And thus we did!
Heartfelt mahalos to: Z, Michael, Mark, Brett who all have given support to the website in a variety of essential ways. This "PePl" website literally would not exist without your participation! Big mahalos, of course, to you our visitors, our guests, campus and community members, family and friends and supporters of aloha & peace through peaceful means everywhere...We all share this award...and someday we'll all share a more peaceful, loving planet as well!
E Ho'omaluhia Me Ka Honua! With Alohas, a.s.
